In December 2022, Bernie Hollywood OBE will take on an inspiring 3,000 miles SOLO across the Atlantic Ocean, raising awareness and funds for charities, Samaritans and Love Rowing.

Love Rowing Director, Sally Corander attended the unveiling of the Boat of Hope in London last month and met the wonderful team behind this epic challenge! 

The last year has been so tough on young people’s mental well-being and Bernie is determined to make a difference through The Boat of Hope.

Bernie's endeavour will be a beacon of hope to any young people who have faced mental health difficulties. His journey across the Atlantic on a single rowing boat – appositely named, the Boat of Hope – will act as a powerful metaphor for life’s highs and lows, ups and downs.

The gruelling challenge will push Bernie to extremes physically and mentally, as he spends up to 90 days rowing completely unsupported, putting his endurance and mental resilience to the test. 

Some of you may know Bernie well as he previously worked with Love Rowing as Foundation Manager.  The whole Love Rowing team wish him all the best and look forward to watching his progress over the next year.
