British Rowing, in partnership with Love Rowing, is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Adaptive Rowing Equipment Fund.

The heart of this collaboration is a shared ambition: To broaden the reach of rowing and change lives through greater access and inclusivity. The fund will provide grants of up to £2,000 per club, supporting the purchase of specialist equipment that enables disabled rowers to get on the water, develop their skills, and continue their rowing journey.

“This fund is about creating real, sustainable opportunities” – Di Farrell Thomas.

British Rowing’s lead on inclusion

“We know that a lack of equipment and coaching support can be major hurdles for clubs. By working with Love Rowing, we’re helping to remove those barriers and make rowing a sport for everyone.”

Eligible applicants must be British Rowing affiliated clubs based in England. Priority will be given to clubs that have not previously been able to support disabled rowers due to lack of resources, as well as those demonstrating clear intent and community engagement in building inclusive programmes.

In addition to the equipment grants, British Rowing will offer continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for coaches, further empowering clubs to support adaptive and mixed ability rowing long-term.

Applications open on 20 June 2025 and close at 12 noon on 11 July 2025. An online information webinar hosted by Rebecca Gibson (Love Rowing) and Di Farrell Thomas (British Rowing) will take place on Wednesday 18 June, 7:30pm – 8:30pm. Clubs interested in applying are encouraged to attend to learn more about the process and receive guidance on shaping a strong submission.

Rebecca Gibson, Foundation Director Head of Love Rowing, added: “We believe rowing can be truly transformative, building confidence, community and wellbeing. This fund is an exciting step forward in ensuring more people can benefit, no matter their starting point.”

Clubs can register for the webinar by emailing info@loverowing.org

Successful applicants will be notified by 4 August 2025.
