Love Rowing named Social Impact Partner for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027

Love Rowing is proud to be announced as an official Social Impact Partner of Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, supporting a shared ambition to create more adaptive sporting opportunities for the Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) Armed Forces community.

Through this partnership, Love Rowing will deliver a 12-month social impact project, kindly funded by Team Forces, using the power of rowing to support recovery, wellbeing and community connection. Drawing on our experience of delivering inclusive rowing programmes, we will help create accessible opportunities for members of the WIS community to experience the benefits of the sport.

Our partnership with Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 builds on many years of connection with the Invictus Games community and our commitment to making rowing more inclusive and accessible. We have seen first-hand how adaptive rowing can help people rebuild confidence, develop new skills and find a sense of belonging through sport.

The first on-the-water taster sessions will take place at:

  • Worcester Rowing Club – Sunday 28 June 2026
  • Hereford Rowing Club – Sunday 26 July 2026
  • Maidenhead – Sunday 23 August 2026

Members of the WIS community — including those currently Serving, Veterans and Reservists — are invited to join us and discover what adaptive rowing has to offer.

If you would like to take part, please contact Love Rowing at info@loverowing.org or get in touch through our social channels.

Nick Steel, Co-Chair and Trustee of Love Rowing, said:

“Love Rowing has been connected to the Invictus Games community for many years, and we’ve seen first-hand the impact adaptive rowing can have in supporting recovery, rebuilding confidence and creating connection. We are delighted to be partnering with Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, ensuring we make the most of the Games returning to the UK.”

Through this partnership, Love Rowing will continue its mission to open up rowing to more people and demonstrate the positive impact inclusive sport can have on individuals and communities.
