Maidenhead held its annual regatta on the 7th August and the Love Rowing team where there to report on it! The regatta saw a record number of adaptive entries and with some 'minute' precision organising from the club, all were accommodated for. As of late, COVID has restricted the amount of local racing that has been allowed to happen, so it was great that all crews were given the opportunity.
The event even saw the first ever club regatta Mixed Supported Adaptive 4+ race which will hopefully now become a regular at not only this regatta but others across the country.
The majority of the racing, over the 500m course, was very close and exciting, with most boats finishing within a length of each other. This was testament to some very impressive race pairings and timings from the organisers, made even more impressive due to the limited data on each racing crew because of a COVID hit racing calendar the past two years.
A huge congratulations to everyone who raced and continued to smile despite the relentless rain (which did seem to subside for the para-events!) and also a massive thank you to all the organisers at Maidenhead RC especially Nick Steel who ran a wonderful regatta for everyone.
