Love Rowing supports Regatta for the Disabled thanks to Regattas Lodge fundraising

We are delighted to use £1,000 of funds kindly raised by Regattas Freemasons Lodge to sponsor this year’s Regatta for the Disabled on 12 September. The Lodge has been fundraising for Love Rowing to help increase opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people across Oxfordshire to experience rowing.

The Regattas Lodge has so far raised over £12,000 through a fundraising dinner at Leander and other initiatives, as well as match funding from Oxfordshire Freemasons.

The Regatta for the Disabled faced a shortfall in its fundraising grants earlier this year, making Love Rowing’s £1,000 sponsorship particularly valuable in helping to support this year’s event.

Chair of the Regatta for the Disabled, Lucy Bowley, said:

“We would like to say a huge thank you to both Regattas Lodge and Love Rowing because earlier this year we had a deficit in our fundraising grants. We are looking forward to welcoming the adaptive rowing crews from Marlow Rowing Club who use our donated rowing boat for a demonstration again this year to encourage our visitors to get into rowing.”

Gavin Delf, Foundation Director at Love Rowing, said:

“We are delighted to support the Regatta for the Disabled. The regatta’s aim of enabling people of all abilities to experience the joy of boating aligns perfectly with Love Rowing’s mission to make rowing inclusive and accessible to everyone.

“Our sponsorship of the event forms part of our wider ambition to increase adaptive rowing opportunities for disabled people across Oxfordshire. This work is made possible through the generous support of Regattas Lodge and the Oxfordshire Masons.”

Stuart Rahman-Greasley, on behalf of the Regattas Lodge Events Team, commented:

“We are really pleased to help sponsor this important Henley event. Our ongoing aim is to work with local Henley organisations in supporting rowing for disabled and disadvantage people. Our members are looking forward to also helping out at the Regatta. We are planning to continue to raise further funds this year for Love Rowing and we will shortly be releasing tickets for our fundraising dinner at Leander again on 13 November.”
